The family Rosaceae includes around 5,000 species across around 91 genuses. Many are edible: apples, pears, plums, cherries, hawthorns (such as mayhaw or Ouachita Hawthorn), rosehips, peach, apricot, chokecherry, black cherry, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, loquats, medlars, and almonds, among others.
