Hi. I’m Conrad Thomas Young, I go by Conrad. I run Ouachita Getaways, LLC dba as Ouabi.
Ecotourism is my goal: To create a way to relax while knowing one is legitimately helping the environment. That’s easier said than done. Falsifiability is paramount. How a customer be sure their actions are truly making a difference? Trust via evidence. I want to cap CEO pay for my companies at 18-1 the lowest paid worker, and sell at least half of food to American public schools for cost plus 1/12 the harvesting costs.
You’re here now. You’re reading this. Thank you for your time; attention is so hard to come by these days. Ouabi aims to spend yours wisely. Our goal is to better utilize resources.
We’re (the Royal ‘we’, of course) mainly focused on tourism, while trying to have a positive, outsized effect upon the slice of the Multiverse that Ouabi could be viewed as actively exploiting. We’re headquartered in McCurtain County, Oklahoma, Choctaw Nation, the United States of America. I’m relatively certain few humans have been a lighter shade of beige than I. I have no affiliation with the Choctaw Nation other than residing within their boundaries due to being my father’s son. The main industries here are timber, agriculture (primarily chicken, cattle, and pecans), as well as tourism. Ouabi aims to develop improved methods of production for these industries, by optimizing profitability paired with carbon-dioxide equivalent emissions reductions.
What’s been the hold up with expressing my grand plan? I think mostly fear and laziness, but also being exceptionally uncomfortable with others lying to me in order to attempt to manipulate me, and knowing not what else to do save welching on promises I’d made and doing other tasks surreptitiously. Time takes time. I think that it’s possible that at least one entity on Earth in my timeline has quantum supremacy. Either way, with that on the imminent horizon, and Generative AI already spinning out of control, via ‘hallucinations/bullshitting’, I might already be too late. The world I’m in, should I be able to see the outcome, is about to get weird through zero faults of my own. That would have happened, I think, even had I not been born. It will become harder and harder, especially for those without understandings of technology, to trust that what they are looking at on the internet is not imaginary (imaginary numbers aren’t really imaginary, we just didn’t have a better word to explain them at that time). I doubt I’m the most honest person in the multiverse, but I was trying to be as honest as I could about my intentions. I didn’t express many of my intentions, though, as I have a severe problem with concision and never really was asked about my end intentions. I’d always wanted to express myself years ago.
I had been trying to allow Jonathan M. Adams of Biovie to work in conjunction with my company, but was unable to reach common ground. We met when I was trying to write what I’ve still yet to write. I’m only writing this in lieu of a fuller picture. I intend to quickly finish writing my plan. I’ve struggled to even start to write it, save for pieces here and there through email due to unfortunately being unable to trust Mr. Adams. I’m certain I’m as much at fault as he is. I should have cut things short far sooner.
One major hitch had been that I had had to ask him several times to get pertinent questions, from my perspective, answered. Eventually I gave up on repeatedly asking questions and zeroed in on why I had to correct his misspelling of the word “Forester” four times, he’d misspelled it as “Forrester”. I’m relatively certain he’d told others that I was upset about the word being misspelled, rather than my correction to the spelling being ignored four times, thrice in writing and once verbally, to my memory. For me, it was never about the misspelling, but was instead a sort of zero-knowledge proof. With much prompting, he eventually apologized for the initial misspelling. As that wasn’t my issue, in my next email via Protonmail, my response was something along the lines of: I didn’t think he needed to apologize for the misspelling, but if he had anything for which to apologize, it was for ignoring my correction four full times. In the last three weeks, once I made clear I was planning on explaining myself publicly, finally, and also intended to note that a major holdup in allowing him to hitch his wagon to mine was that I couldn’t finagle an apology for having the correction being ignored four times, my emails, which I tend to never delete, were somehow partially deleted and retroactively altered. I was complacent to believe that Protonmail could not be hacked. At one point, because I wasn’t completely sure he wasn’t skimming my writing, I wrote an apology for him, and asked him to copy and paste that response, to demonstrate it was being read. He instead chose to again apologize for the misspelling, that message had also somehow (illegally) been deleted from Protonmail’s servers. I’m not currently rich enough in time or money to be able to cross reference my backups with uncompromised systems. I never thought a misspelling merited necessitating an apology.
I’ve been trying to avoid being controlled by any undue influence for some time. Here or there Mr. Adams seemed to know things about me which I perceived could only be known through illegal means, which isn’t to say I think he acquired them himself through illegal means. I’m absofruitly certain that people within my community have illegally invaded my digital privacy to try to see what was taking so long, or see if they could find my plan, as opposed to either directly asking me what the holdup was or honoring the agreement(s) I had to work with them.
Again, my own fear and laziness are higher causes for my slow pace. Long ago I decided I wanted to move slow and fix things, a sort of corollary to Facebook’s onetime motto to move fast and break things. As someone once said, America has made many a hare, but few terrapins. For quite some time, I’ve been under the impression that my devices were compromised. Recently, once I conveyed my plans to someone with whom I had business, certain documents on my devices were deleted. I had, again in that case, also tried to engage in a zero-knowledge proof that I was aware the system was compromised and was consequently unwilling to bring myself to finish my projects. I’ve not done nothing. Here and there I’ve been advancing towards my goals. I’ve also been trying to discern the connections between those with power.
For some time I’ve been terrified of the implications to AI, I sincerely fear that because epigenetics and LLMs both exploit matrices, mathematically, that AI might be being pushed towards humanity unconsciously or subconsciously, to inevitably incite our extinction. I’ve been striving to position myself to ensure that that is not possible, through a variety of creative means, such as polyploidization and aneuploidization of plants to utilitarian ends. I assert that if quantum computers are already possessed by various intelligence agencies, that they are still limited by energy consumption and economic ceilings. I don’t think we’re the only life in this universe, and assert that the Hubble Tension proves as much. Would not other intelligent lifeforms also find Standard Candles before observing the Cosmic Microwave Background?
I think I devised a logical-biological proof for the existence of Free Will, but have yet to document physically or digitally. I think I never got a truly honest chance to write my plan without an invasion of privacy; I’ve been reacting more than acting, over the last four years. ~'[Humans] behave correctly only after exhausting all other alternatives.’ I feel like I have had more alternatives than I have chosen or than others are capable of conceiving. I’m exceptionally foolish and faulty, like most. I wanted to effect Georgism, with capitalism, improved land management, and without straining governmental resources.
I’m relatively certain I was aware that those who invaded my digital privacy had done as much long before they were aware that I was aware, and that I chose to not directly inform them I was aware. Instead I tried to waste more of my own time. I’m unsure how they thought I didn’t know, or why they thought my actions weren’t consequently altered as direct result of those illegal invasions of privacy. Several years ago I ran out of people who I trusted from whom to ask for help. Some people accuse the US Government of negotiating with terrorists, and to many outside the US, it is the terrorist. I’ve never wanted to stoop so low. I really dislike negotiating with anyone. I have suffered from a paralysis of choice. One of my main goals was to make choice easier for people. I think one of the first places to start with such a goal is to find common ground in the information space, while aiming to minimize misinformation and disinformation. As AI has made its way into replacing search engines, I think that has become all the more pressing. Choice is difficult, many times it is based on geography and economic conditions. Sometimes an abundance of choice is an illusion of choice, which is to say there are few good options.
I think I’ve rarely claimed complete sanity. I’ve simultaneously always intended to minimize collateral damage of my actions, and aim for additionality. I have definitely seemed delusional to those on the outside looking in. The more that people have tried to force my intentions out of me, rather than ask me, the more I have withdrawn as I sought to try to understand where I went wrong. I try to be exceptionally grateful to have been born within America as an American. I strongly believe that our democratic republic is a bastion of goodness and inherently superior to authoritarianism. I know that that has not been readily apparent, comprehensively, to many Americans and non-Americans since the 1960s. Growth is not without pain. I hope the good outweighs the bad. Hope is the most contagious thing in the multiverse, but I imagine measles is a close second. While I do meander, and blend straight-face sarcasm with unabashed idealism, I hope and believe the reader can differentiate on their own.
In my opinion, all wealth comes from the land, which itself is either mineral in nature, or derives its bounty from weather and solar light. That is one of many premises for my work. I don’t want to force people to agree with me. I mainly wanted to add my opinion to the conversation, and allow others to at least consider it. I think most people in this world believe the worst and make incorrect assumptions. It may sound weird, but I direly intentionally wanted what I was doing to not be about myself. That was one of my initial explicit promises to myself. When I haven’t been wasting time, I was and have been aiming to help everyone, without stealing physical or intellectual property. I’m severely unorthodox. Though I’m not Lutheran, Martin Luther is one of my highest idols, and I don’t think that’s an idolatrous statement. Simultaneously, I do think that figures of speech, even when written, are necessarily blasphemous. Long ago, in solidarity with Immanuel Kant, I decided to never commit suicide. (Some people don’t mean what they say, some do, some sometimes do and sometimes don’t. When I say never in that instance, I mean never.) Beginning in 2011, I started on a medicine for epilepsy for around ten years. Slowly it took most of my emotions away, and I wondered how else it might impact my thought processes.
I built a Qualified Opportunity Zone Business, as a Real Estate Professional. Real Estate Professional allows timber, and monthly or nightly rentals, but not ‘farming’. Farming is allowed as QOZ. REP and Farming are not allowed to be combined. For a property to count as an REP property, at least 5% of the property must be owned by the business. “Fruit and nut trees” planted for fruit or nut production is farming, but I had been uncertain about that. It seemed like it may or may not be, depending on how the business was structured. I was mainly interested in forestry for timber and carbon sequestration purposes. Many people have claimed that planting a trillion trees could solve the climate crisis. There’s relatively little prime available land left. More than half the currently arable land of Earth is already devoted to farming for human calories. Half of all food is grown for animal production. Capitalism has, probably, won the war against communism. The USSR was never an economic competitor to the US, merely a military competitor. China is still far behind the US in terms of economic productivity per person, even though they’re semi-capitalistic within an authoritarian communist framework. Half of all food consumed by humanity comes from corn or rice. Roughly 75% comes from corn, rice, soy, or wheat. Much land which grows forests are unfit for growing corn, wheat, soy, or rice. The Great Plains were expanding when Europeans arrived due to cultivation of Buffalo herds. The Five Civilized Tribes were considered ‘civilized’ because they separated power between religion and military, and quickly adopted the European technologies as they saw fit. (One of my cousin’s friends, who happened to be Choctaw, was in New Mexico, and a man of Comanche ancestry started to give him grief: “Oh, so you think you’re civilized‽ [Comanche means enemy of all — If the enemy of one’s enemy is one’s friend, perhaps the Comanche were well allied at times]) Those tribes, before European arrival, traded their goods for Plains’ bison.
I commonly, regretfully, lose track of my train of thought. To really increase food supply, I think that just a few trees could allow a large increase. A patch of land on a hill that’s unfit for farming annual crops due to machinery limitations, such as steepness or flooding, or poor soil, can produce trees that produce large crops. The Honey Locust is a tree that can produce 5,000 lbs of pods per acre per year. It has beautiful pink timber. It is much reviled by many because its thorns; thornless varieties exist, but they cross with thorny wild males. It’s polygamodioecious, but it is mostly dioecious. 70-90% of saplings are males, and insects travel up to 2 miles for pollination. It fruits quite early in life. If the chromosomes are doubled, and the flowering window offset by a month, and the flowering window does tend to move during a polyploidization event, then it could be cultivated within America without leading to thorny progeny. Thorniness is genetic, epigenetic, and polygenic. Thornlessness can be induced by cloning from 15′ or higher, through DNA methylation (which has nothing to do with methamphetamine.) Most cultivars are out of patent and hail from the Tennessee River Valley, gathered by John H. Hershey. It’s the most planted street tree in NYC and the most planted tree in urban areas in America, highly praised for its lack of sidewalk-impeding roots and salt-tolerance.
Even in a monoculture plantation, while it is biennially-producing, it uniquely does not synchronize, so a crop can be gathered each year. I happened upon a wild thornless female on my property that I inherited from my great-grandparents Marion Washington and Fannie May Tucker, from my grandmother Bettye Jean Cheney, from my father Randall Gene Young. It has produced roughly 160 lbs +-3 lbs of fruit in both 2022 and 2024, but some shrinkage due to wildlife certainly occurred. It has beans just as edible and tasty as pinto beans. The USDA Agriculture Handbook 727 states honey locusts have up to 12 seeds per pod, but mine averaged around 22, and the highest was 36. The pods had a high amount of sugar, probably 20%+. (Sugar beets by dry weight are, I think, around 12%. They are the only polyploidized triploid that has had commercial success.) It can survive on 10″+ of rain, and will produce fruit at 20″+ of rain. Sheep and goats are the only ruminants that chew enough to digest the beans. It formerly reached 150′ and 6′ dbh. It has some of the most rot resistant and strongest timber of any species. It is likely an oxalate carbonate pathway tree; tamarind and carob, its closest relatives outside of its genus, are. Once a viable tetraploid is crossed with a diploid, a parthenocarpic triploid will be produced. Then the sugar ought to be able to reach 40-50% sugar content by dry weight, which is nutritionally equivalent to oats for ruminants. It is the only high sugar crop, of which I know, that could be dried and turned into ethanol out of season, which would subsidize ethanol production. It could also be shipped overseas, by barge, as a commodity.
